Creating a new partition from existing partition

First thing you need to do is create unallocated space in order to create a new partition.

Ubuntu/ Kubuntu:
- Use the installation disk and proceed as a new installation.
- Select a manual partition setup
- select the partition you wish to split and edit to set a lower size

Once you reduce the partition, cancell the installation and reboot the system normally.

Open gparted or other partition program:
- create a new partition from the unallocated free space
